Admissions and Enquiries
Admitting a loved one to a care home can be a daunting and stressful prospect, especially if you have previously been their carer, so we aim to make the process as easy as possible.
Every admission is different, but as a general guide the process could look like this:
- You make an enquiry to us, either by telephone or via our website.
- We telephone you to discuss the care needs of your loved one.
- We invite you to tour the home with our Manager or one of her team, where we can discuss care needs in more detail, look at available rooms, discuss fees and any other requirements you may have.
- If you wish to proceed at this stage, we’ll arrange for a pre-assessment of your loved one (whether they are at home or in hospital). This will enable us to gain a comprehensive understanding of the level of care required. We use the information to create an individualised care plan.
- If we are able to meet the care needs identified in the assessment, we’ll confirm admission and fees with you and agree an admission date. At this time we will also explain what personal items your loved one should bring with them.
- Before your loved one joins Elliscombe House we will send you various documentation such as our Terms of Residence, invoice and consent forms.
